Using technology to improve the visualisation of interconnected procedures so we identify challenges on the computer and avoid mistakes in the mouth
Bacchus Marsh Dental House uses the latest dental technology and evidence-based, modern dental developments to provide the highest level of dental care possible. Our dentists seek continuing education to stay up to date on trainings and certifications to advance the dental practice’s ability to provide high-level patient care.
We consider technology an investment in the health and comfort of our patients.
We store all patient records using encryption for advanced security, eliminating paper records that can become damaged or unreadable over time. Patient information is immediately accessible for dentists to identify changes in your oral health that may require professional attention.
Digital x-rays give dentists instant access to vital information used in the diagnosis and treatment of dental conditions. They emit significantly less radiation than traditional film x-rays for increased safety. We recommend periodic x-rays to assist with diagnosis of dental conditions such as decay, bone loss, and infection. We also take x-rays prior to restorations such as dental crowns, bridges, and dental implant placement to ensure accuracy with treatment.
Electric handpieces are quieter than their air-driven counterparts. Patients report finding the reduced noise and vibration less distracting during treatment. They also allow more efficient treatment times, meaning less overall time in the chair during procedures.
Intraoral cameras allow us an opportunity to show patients exactly what our dentists see. This may include cracked teeth, tartar buildup, periodontal disease, damage, wear, or suspicious lesions. A small, handheld camera can snap a picture of individual teeth or a certain area of your mouth. We can then bring up the image on our in-room monitors for the dentist to display. We will store this information in digital patient charts for future reference and to monitor changes in oral health.
Dental Cone Beam CT
Dental Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CT) is a special type of x-ray equipment used when regular dental or facial x-rays are not sufficient. We use this technology to produce three dimensional (3-D) images of your teeth, soft tissues, nerve pathways and bone in a single scan. The benefit is that an accurate 3D X-ray can be taken a lot quicker with less radiation, and the brand we use is the world safest from Germany.
Televisions in Rooms
In-room monitors may sound like a small convenience, but it is one patients truly enjoy. We offer treatment room televisions so that patients can pass the time during their appointments. Televisions shows, movies, and other entertainment can provide a welcome distraction as our team provides necessary dental treatment.
CEREC - CAD/CAM
CEREC is the short term for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics, or CEramic REConstruction. CEREC uses CAD/CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) technology to take impressions quickly and generate a precisely fitted filling so you can leave Discovery Dental sooner.
Digital Smile Design
Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a treatment planning protocol that allows for careful analysis of the patient’s facial and dental structures through state-of-the-art videography and digital technology. Today, the DSD Concept is considered the most modern, patient-centered design approach available.
