Modern dentistry focuses on saving your teeth whenever possible, we strive to keep your smile as natural as possible. If your tooth is damaged, we can save what is left with a dental crown, and if you have missing teeth, we can bridge the gap with a dental bridge. These methods allow you to talk, eat and live with confidence knowing that your teeth will look great and stay in place, just like natural teeth.
Dental Crowns
A dental crown is a cover or cap that a dentist makes to fit over a tooth that is badly damaged. It is designed to restore the appearance of your natural tooth and allows you to eat with minimal discomfort. Crowns can protect what is left of the structure of your tooth and prevent further damage due to fracturing or breakage. Here are some scenarios that are suitable for dental crowns:

Dental Bridges
Sometimes teeth cannot be saved, but there are options to replace them at an affordable price. A dental bridge may be the solution for you. A bridge is a fixed dental structure used as part of restoration and therapy. They are made up of the missing tooth and abutments, which are crowns that fit over the teeth on both sides of the missing tooth and used to anchor or support the bridge. You may hear your dentist refer to them as abutment teeth.
Bridges may be a better option than dental implants if there is loss of bone from gum disease or the surrounding teeth are not strong enough. Your dental professional can help find the right solution for your needs.

Is a Dental Bridge Right for Me?
Thanks to modern technology, there are different types of dental bridges for different scenarios. We take into consideration your oral health and structural integrity to find the right fit for you. There are a variety of bridge styles, designed for different needs. The following are the different types:
Traditional Bridge
These are small and lightweight and provide comfort by re-distributing your bite force across the bridge and your other teeth. These require well-fitted crowns to the abutment teeth.
Cantilever Bridge
These are used when only one tooth is available as the anchor or abutment tooth. They are commonly used for back molars and are good options for those who do not want a dental implant.
Maryland Bridge
These are a cost-effective solution that uses “wings” to secure the false tooth to the anchor teeth. This eliminates the need to remove enamel and fit a crown for abutment teeth, but require a strong foundation to secure it to.
Implant-Supported Bridge
This option is used when there are multiple teeth missing in a row. In this case, a dental implant will be placed as a root for each tooth then a dental bridge will be created to replace the multiple teeth, as opposed to one crown for each tooth.
