What are the steps for DSD?
When choosing to use Digital Smile Design, you will come in for your visit and meet your dental professional. We will take pictures, and possibly x-rays and videos to obtain full, 3D images of your mouth and face, including your lips and gums.
Once we have all the information we need, including input from you regarding your desired smile, specialised software helps us form potential changes and we will schedule your next visit.
When you come back for your visit, we will go over treatment options and show you how your new smile will look. Often called a dental “mock-up,” this is when you can see your results before the actual treatment, which allows you to make changes if you like.
When you are happy with your new smile on the mock-up, we will create a roadmap for your personalised treatment and begin.
Limitations of Digital Smile Design
Digital Smile Design is a valuable planning tool, but it has some limitations to be aware of.
