Presenting Concerns

The patient presented with the following alignment concerns requiring orthodontic assessment and treatment.

Dental Crowding: Both upper and lower teeth were misaligned and not sitting in their correct positions

The primary clinical objective was to straighten both arches and correct the bite relationship through clear aligner therapy.

Treatment Plan and Process

A custom Invisalign plan was developed to address the crowding and bite concerns progressively across an eight-month treatment period.

Phase 1: Assessment and Planning: Digital records were taken to assess the degree of crowding and the bite relationship. A custom aligner series was mapped out to guide both arches into their intended positions, with the planned movements confirmed before treatment began.

Phase 2: Active Aligner Therapy: Custom clear aligners were worn in sequence, with each set moving the teeth a small amount. Regular monitoring appointments were held across the eight-month treatment period to assess progress and aligner fit.

Phase 3: Retention: Retainers were provided at the end of treatment to maintain the improved tooth positions over the long term.

Clinical Outcome

Across eight months of aligner therapy, the teeth moved into better alignment and the depth of the overbite was reduced. The lower teeth became visible when biting together, consistent with the treatment objective.

Individual treatment outcomes depend on factors including aligner compliance, retainer wear, and the degree of crowding and bite discrepancy present at the start of treatment. Results experienced by one patient do not necessarily reflect outcomes others may experience.
