What Is the Warranty on Porcelain Veneers?
What Is the Warranty on Porcelain Veneers?
Hi, I’m Dr Fong, the principal dentist here at Dental House Group.
The other day, one of our long term patients, Jeffrey from Melton, came in for a smile consultation. His teeth are uneven, and some of them have gaps between them. He has been thinking about upgrading his smile for a long time, and has decided to do something about it.
During his smile consultation, he asked me, Hey Fong, what is the warranty for porcelain veneers? Well that’s a great question. Afterall, porcelain veneers are a significant investment, so I decided to make a video about it.
Like I mentioned, porcelain veneers are an investment in your teeth, so first it is good to note that maintaining oral health with brushing and regular checkups should be followed to enjoy them as long as you can.
We take yearly x-rays to monitor the health under the veneers and we can also make suggestions with oral care if needed. Professional cleanings are also part of continuing to provide the best care to your veneers and your teeth, because hygienists are skilled at finding and removing debris and calculus that sticks to teeth even after brushing.
Now to the warranty. We will happily repair or replace porcelain veneers if they become defective within a five year time frame. That’s because if there are any defects, it will be known within that time.
However, our warranty does not cover damage to veneers that takes place due to auto accidents, falls or biting on hard objects. While veneers are strong, they are not bullet-proof. It is up to you to properly care for your teeth as well as your veneers to prevent such damage.
Warranties for porcelain veneers will cover damage, fracture or breakage of a veneer due to structural issues. While it is rare, defects in the material may happen, which can cause the veneer to be more prone to problems. If your veneer falls off, it will have to be re-bonded to your tooth. Again, this is something that rarely takes place but if it does, simply give us a call. But with our five year warranty, you have plenty of time in case there is a problem.
Most patients experience no issues at all once their porcelain veneers are placed onto their teeth. They are easy to take care of and durable with proper care. If you want to make the most of your veneers and have them last as long as possible, follow these simple guidelines to take care of them and avoid situations that can damage them.
If you have issues with grinding or clenching your teeth, let us know right away. Usually, the dentist will find signs of this, but it’s always a good idea to mention it. Grinding and clenching your teeth can damage even the finest veneer over time and this would not be covered by a warranty. The same goes for biting on hard objects like ice or pens. Just use common sense and you should be fine.
Keep in mind that tobacco, wine, and certain foods that contain staining herbs may have an effect on veneers. While porcelain veneers are very stain-resistance, cigarette smoke and certain highly-pigmented substances may attach to the veneers. If you smoke or drink red wine, regular professional cleanings can help ward off stains.

We want your veneers to last a long time, that’s why we provide our patients here at Dental House with customised care instructions for every treatment. But if you have any questions or concerns, we are always here to support you.
I hope this video gave you a better understanding of the warranty of porcelain veneers. If you are looking to upgrade your smile, we would love to look after you.
Simply give us a call on 1800GENTLE, DM us in social media, or complete the form on our website, and we will help you organise a smile consultation. Bye for now.
